तथा बहुविधाकारा प्रावृण्मेघानुनादिता । अभ्यतीता शिवा तेषां चरतां मरुधन्वसु,पाण्डव अभी मरुप्रदेशमें ही विचरते थे, तभी मेघोंकी गर्जनासे गूँजती तथा अनेक प्रकारके रूप-रंग लिये प्रकट हुई मंगलमयी वर्षा-ऋतु भी बीत गयी
tathā bahuvidhākārā prāvṛṇmeghānunāditā | abhyatītā śivā teṣāṃ caratāṃ marudhanvasu ||
ดังนี้เอง ขณะที่เหล่าปาณฑพพเนจรอยู่ในแดนมรุดันวะอันแห้งแล้ง ฤดูวสันต์แห่งฝน—อันเป็นมงคล กึกก้องด้วยเสียงคำรามของเมฆปราวฤต และแปรเปลี่ยนรูปโฉมหลากหลาย—ก็ล่วงผ่านไป; เพราะกาลเวลาแม้ท่ามกลางความทุกข์ก็หาได้หยุดยั้งไม่
