नाशबवनुवं॑ पीडयितु ते तु मां प्रत्यपीडयन्‌ उस युद्धमें दिव्यास्त्रों द्वारा अभिमन्त्रित बाणोंकी वर्षा करके भी मैं उन्हें पीड़ित न कर सका; परंतु वे मुझे बहुत पीड़ा देने लगे

na śaknomy ahaṁ pīḍayituṁ te tu māṁ pratyapīḍayan | tasmin yuddhe divyāstrair abhimantritāṇāṁ bāṇānāṁ varṣaṁ kṛtvāpi na tān pīḍayituṁ śaknomi; te tu māṁ bahu pīḍayanti ||

อรชุนกล่าวว่า “ข้าไม่อาจทำให้พวกเขาบอบช้ำได้ ในศึกนั้น แม้ข้าจะโปรยฝนศรที่ปลุกเสกด้วยมนตร์และหนุนด้วยอาวุธทิพย์ ข้าก็มิอาจปราบพวกเขาได้ กลับเป็นพวกเขาที่เริ่มทรมานข้าอย่างหนัก”
