Hiraṇyapura Described and the Deployment of the Raudra Weapon

sa tu śabdo divaṃ stabdhvā pratiśabdam ajījanat | vitrēsuś ca nililyuś ca bhūtāni sumahānty api ||

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the moral-psychological force of a powerful signal: sound can command attention, unsettle even the strong, and reshape the emotional field in which choices are made—reminding one to use power (even symbolic power) with restraint and awareness of its effects on others.

A tremendous sound rises and reverberates through the sky, producing an echo; on hearing it, even great beings become frightened and hide, indicating the extraordinary intensity and portent of the moment.
