Educational Q&A

True spiritual excellence is recognized not merely by human opinion but by the assent of the wise (ṛṣis) and the divine order (devas). Radiance (tejas/śrī) here signals inner merit—often linked with tapas, purity, and fitness for sacred action—prompting reverence and divine response.

The sages and the gods collectively offer praise. Then Agni (Havyavāhana), seeing the person’s blazing splendor, takes notice—indicating a turning point where divine agency acknowledges and engages with the situation described in the surrounding verses.
