पज्चवर्षाण्यहं वीरं सत्यसंधं धनंजयम्‌ । यन्न पश्यामि बीभत्सुं तेन तप्ये वृकोदर,भीमसेन! आज पाँच वर्ष हो गये, मैं अपने वीर भाई सत्यप्रतिज्ञ अर्जुनके दर्शनसे वंचित हो गया हूँ। इसके कारण मुझे बड़ी चिन्ता हो रही है

pañca-varṣāṇy ahaṃ vīraṃ satya-saṃdhaṃ dhanañjayam | yan na paśyāmi bībhatsuṃ tena tapye vṛkodara ||

โอ้วฤโกทร ห้าปีแล้วที่ข้าไม่ได้เห็นวีรบุรุษธนัญชัย—บีภัตสุ อรชุน—ผู้มั่นคงในสัตย์ปฏิญาณ; เพราะพรากจากการได้เห็นเขา ข้าจึงร้อนรุ่มด้วยความทุกข์
