विदुरस्य कृष्णं प्रति शमोपदेशः

दुःशासनं च कर्ण च शकुनिं चापि सौबलम्‌

duḥśāsanaṃ ca karṇaṃ ca śakuniṃ cāpi saubalam

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “(เขาได้เอ่ยนาม) ทุษศาสนะ กรรณะ และศะกุนิ บุตรแห่งสุบาละด้วย” วรรคนี้ยกให้เห็นตัวการสำคัญแห่งคำปรึกษาและความอาฆาต ซึ่งการตัดสินใจของพวกเขาเร่งเร้าความเสื่อมทางศีลธรรมไปสู่สงคราม
