सुदुष्करस्तत्र शमो हि नून॑ प्रदर्शित: संजय पाण्डवेन । यस्मिन् गृद्धो धृतराष्ट्र: सपुत्र: कस्मादेषां कलहो नावमूच्छेत्
suduṣkaras tatra śamo hi nūnaṁ pradarśitaḥ sañjaya pāṇḍavena | yasmin gṛddho dhṛtarāṣṭraḥ saputraḥ kasmād eṣāṁ kalaho nāvamucchyet, sañjaya ||
โอ้สัญชัย สันติที่ปาณฑวะแสดงไว้ ณ ที่นั้น ย่อมเป็นสิ่งยากยิ่งนักที่จะธำรงไว้ให้มั่นคง เพราะอาณาจักรเดียวกันนั้นเองที่ธฤตราษฏระพร้อมด้วยโอรสทั้งหลายยึดติดด้วยความโลภและปรารถนาจะครอบครอง—แล้วความบาดหมางระหว่างเหล่ากุรุและปาณฑวะจะไม่ปะทุและทวีขึ้นได้อย่างไร?
