Bhīṣma’s Dream-Counsel and the Prasvāpa Astra (भीष्मस्वप्नदर्शनम् / प्रस्वापास्त्रोपदेशः)

इदं निमित्ते कस्मिंश्चिदस्माभि: प्रागुदाहतम्‌ । शस्त्रधारणमत्युग्रं तच्चाकार्य कृतं त्वया,यह बात पहले भी किसी अवसरपर हमने तुमसे कही थी। शस्त्र उठाना अत्यन्त भयंकर कर्म है; अतः तुमने यह न करनेयोग्य कार्य ही किया है

idaṃ nimitte kasmiṃścid asmābhiḥ prāg udāhṛtam | śastradhāraṇam atyugraṃ tac cākāryaṃ kṛtaṃ tvayā ||

ในโอกาสก่อนหน้านี้ ในบริบทคล้ายกัน เราได้กล่าวแก่ท่านแล้วว่า การหยิบยกอาวุธเป็นกรรมอันดุร้ายยิ่ง; เพราะฉะนั้นท่านจึงได้กระทำสิ่งที่ไม่ควรกระทำ
