Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
न भयान्नाप्यनुक्रोशान्नार्थलो भान्न काम्यया । क्षात्रं धर्ममहं जह्यामिति मे व्रतमाहितम्
na bhayān nāpy anukrośān nārthalobhān na kāmyayā | kṣātraṃ dharmam ahaṃ jahyām iti me vratam āhitam ||
“มิใช่เพราะความกลัว มิใช่เพราะความเมตตา มิใช่เพราะความโลภในทรัพย์ มิใช่เพราะความใคร่ปรารถนาใด ๆ ข้าจะไม่ละทิ้งธรรมของกษัตริย์นักรบ—นี่คือปณิธานอันมั่นคงของข้า”
