Amba–Rama–Bhishma Dialogue on Vow and Refuge
ऑपन--माजल बछ। जि: अष्टस प्तत्याधिकशततमो< ध्याय: अम्बा और परशुरामजीका संवाद
bhīṣma uvāca |
evam uktas tadā rāmo jahi bhīṣmam iti prabho |
uvāca rudatīṁ kanyāṁ codayantīṁ punaḥ punaḥ ||
ภีษมะกล่าวว่า—เมื่อรามะ (ปรศุราม) ถูกทูลเร้าเช่นนั้นว่า “ข้าแต่องค์ผู้เป็นนาย จงประหารภีษมะเถิด” ท่านจึงกล่าวแก่กุมารีผู้ร่ำไห้และคะยั้นคะยอซ้ำแล้วซ้ำเล่าว่า “โอ้ธิดาแห่งกษัตริย์กาศีผู้เลอโฉม! ตามสัตย์ปฏิญาณของเรา เราจะยกอาวุธก็แต่เมื่อมีความจำเป็นเพื่อกิจอันควรแก่พราหมณ์ผู้รู้พระเวทเท่านั้น; หากไร้เหตุเช่นนั้น เรามิยกอาวุธตามใจปรารถนา ดังนั้น เมื่อรักษาปฏิญาณไว้แล้ว เราจะทำกิจอื่นใดเพื่อเจ้าได้เล่า?”
