भीष्मद्रोणयोर्दुर्योधनं प्रति शमोपदेशः | Bhīṣma and Droṇa’s Counsel of Conciliation to Duryodhana

स्त्रीधर्मिणी वरारोहा क्षत्रधर्मरता सदा । नाध्यगच्छत्‌ तदा नाथं कृष्णा नाथवती सती,क्षत्रियधर्ममें सदा तत्पर रहनेवाली मेरी सर्वाग-सुन्दरी सती-साध्वी बहू कृष्णा उन दिनों रजस्वला अवस्थामें थी। वह सब प्रकारसे सनाथ थी, तो भी उस दिन कौरवसभामें उसे कोई रक्षक नहीं मिला (वह अनाथ-सी रोती हुई अपमान सह रही थी)

strīdharminī varārohā kṣatradharmaratā sadā | nādhyagacchat tadā nāthaṃ kṛṣṇā nāthavatī satī ||

ดรौปที—ผู้ตั้งมั่นในธรรมของสตรี ผู้สูงศักดิ์ และผู้ยึดมั่นในหน้าที่แห่งกษัตริย์นักรบอยู่เสมอ—ในเวลานั้นกลับไม่พบผู้คุ้มครอง. แม้นางเป็นสตรีผู้มีที่พึ่งโดยแท้ แต่ในวันนั้น ณ สภาแห่งคุรุ นางกลับไร้ผู้ปกป้อง ต้องทนความอัปยศประหนึ่งไร้ที่พึ่ง.
