The colophon signals that the chapter’s core is Vidulā’s disciplined instruction to her son—an ethical and practical exhortation emphasizing steadfastness, self-respect, and purposeful action in the face of adversity, framed within dharma and the responsibilities of leadership.
This is the formal closing statement of the chapter: it locates the episode within the Udyoga Parva and the Bhagavad-yāna Parva, and declares that the chapter titled “Vidulā’s Instruction to Her Son” has concluded.
