Udyoga Parva — Gandhārī’s Counsel to Duryodhana
इति मत्वाब्रवीद् धर्म परमेष्ठी प्रजापति: । वरुणाय प्रयच्छैतान् बद्ध्वा दैतेयदानवान्
iti matvābravīd dharma parameṣṭhī prajāpatiḥ | varuṇāya prayacchaitān baddhvā daiteya-dānavān |
ครั้นทรงหยั่งรู้ผลที่จะบังเกิดแล้ว ปรมेष्ठี ประชาบดีพรหมา ตรัสแก่ธรรมะว่า “จงผูกมัดเหล่าไทตยะและทานวะเหล่านี้ แล้วมอบให้แด่พระวรุณ”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Disruptive powers should be restrained and placed under rightful authority; justice is portrayed as orderly containment and accountability rather than personal retaliation.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Brahmā, foreseeing the consequences, instructs Dharma to bind the Daityas and Dānavas and deliver them to Varuṇa, indicating a transfer of custody within the divine administration of order.
