नारद उवाच
This verse functions as a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it teaches attentiveness to textual structure—recognizing when an episode ends and how the epic organizes moral and political narratives into discrete units that guide the reader from one ethical situation to the next.
The text announces the completion of the 116th chapter of the Galava episode within the Bhagavad-yāna section of the Udyoga Parva, indicating that the Galava-related narration has concluded here and the epic is poised to move onward within the broader pre-war diplomatic context.
