Daṇḍanīti and the King as the Cause of Yuga-Order (दण्डनीतिः राजधर्मश्च युगकारणत्वम्)
एवं विचिनुयाद् राजा परचारं विचक्षण: । चारे हि विदिते पूर्व हितं भवति पाण्डव,पाण्डुनन्दन! इस प्रकार बुद्धिमान् राजा शत्रुके गुप्तचरका टोह लेता रहे। यदि उसने शत्रुके जासूसका पहले ही पता लगा लिया तो इससे उसका बड़ा हित होता है
evaṁ vicinuyād rājā paracāraṁ vicakṣaṇaḥ | cāre hi vidite pūrvaṁ hitaṁ bhavati pāṇḍava pāṇḍunandana ||
ดังนี้แล พระราชาผู้มีปัญญาพึงสืบสวนสายลับของศัตรูอยู่เสมอ; เพราะว่า โอ้ปาณฑพ เมื่อรู้ตัวสายลับได้ก่อน ย่อมเป็นประโยชน์และเป็นหลักคุ้มกันอันใหญ่หลวงแก่พระราชา.
