व्यासश्वाकथयत्‌ प्रीत्या धर्मपुत्राय धीमते । स एवायं मया तुभ्यमाख्यात: प्रसृतो गुरो:

Vaiśampāyana uvāca: Vyāsaś ca kathayat prītyā Dharmaputrāya dhīmate | sa evāyaṃ mayā tubhyam ākhyātaḥ prasṛto guroḥ ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า—ด้วยความเอ็นดูเมตตา ฤๅษีวยาสะได้แสดงคำสอนแห่งธรรมะแก่ยุธิษฐิระ ผู้เป็นโอรสแห่งธรรมะผู้ทรงปัญญา ธรรมะนั้นเองซึ่งพรั่งพรูออกจากโอษฐ์ของครูบาอาจารย์ บัดนี้ข้าพเจ้าได้เล่าให้ท่านฟัง ณ ที่นี้แล้ว
