Śuka’s Guṇa-Transcendence and Vyāsa’s Consolation (शुकगति-वर्णनम्)
येन येन हि यस्यार्थ: कारणेनेह कर्मणि । तत्तदालम्बते सर्व: स्वे स्वे स्वार्थपरिग्रहे
yena yena hi yasyārthaḥ kāraṇeneha karmaṇi | tattad ālambate sarvaḥ sve sve svārthaparigrahe ||
ชนกตรัสว่า ในโลกแห่งการกระทำนี้ บุคคลเห็นว่าสิ่งใดเป็นเหตุเป็นปัจจัยจำเป็นต่อการสำเร็จประโยชน์ที่ตนปรารถนา เขาย่อมอาศัยสิ่งนั้น ๆ เพราะทุกคนมุ่งหมายประโยชน์ของตน จึงยึดเอาเครื่องมือที่ทำให้จุดหมายของตนสำเร็จ
