अहिंसा-प्रधान धर्मविचारः

प्रियान्‌ पुत्रान्‌ वयस्यांश्व भ्रातृन्‌ नर पितृनपि । अपध्यास्यन्ति यद्येवं मृतास्तेषां बिभेम्पहम्‌,“जब मैं लोगोंके प्यारे पुत्रों, मित्रों, भाइयों, माताओं तथा पिताओंको मारने लगूँगी, तब उनके सम्बन्धी उनके इस प्रकार मारे जानेके कारण मेरा अनिष्ट-चिन्तन करेंगे; अत: मैं उन लोगोंसे बहुत डरती हूँ

priyān putrān vayasyāṁś ca bhrātṝn nara pitṝn api | apadhyāsyanti yad evaṁ mṛtās teṣāṁ bibhemy aham ||

หากข้าพเจ้าฆ่าบุตรอันเป็นที่รัก มิตรสหาย พี่น้อง และแม้กระทั่งบิดาของผู้คน เหล่าญาติย่อมเห็นพวกเขาถูกฆ่าเช่นนั้นแล้วจะครุ่นคิดด้วยความพยาบาทต่อข้าพเจ้า เพราะเหตุนั้นข้าพเจ้าจึงหวาดกลัวผู้คนเหล่านั้นยิ่งนัก
