अधर्मान्त्हिता वेदा वेदधर्मास्तथा55 श्रमा: । विक्रियन्ते स्वधर्मस्था: स्थावराणि चराणि च
adharmāntarhitā vedā vedadharmās tathāśramāḥ | vikriyante svadharmasthāḥ sthāvarāṇi carāṇi ca ||
วยาสะกล่าวว่า “เมื่ออธรรมครอบงำ พระเวทก็ประหนึ่งถูกซ่อนไว้ ธรรมตามพระเวทและระเบียบแห่งอาศรมก็ถูกบดบัง แล้วสรรพสัตว์ทั้งอยู่กับที่และเคลื่อนไหว—ซึ่งควรตั้งมั่นในธรรมของตน—กลับบิดเบือนจากธรรม ความวิปริตจึงเกิดขึ้นทั่วทุกแห่ง”
