अनिष्टस्याभिनिर्व त्तिमिष्टसंवृत्तिमेव च । अप्रयत्नेन पश्याम: केषाज्चित् तत्स्वभावत:,कितने ही प्राणियोंको बिना किसी प्रयत्नके ही हमलोग अनिष्टकी प्राप्ति और इष्टका निवारण होते देखते हैं। यह बात स्वभावसे ही होती है
aniṣṭasyābhinirvṛttim iṣṭasaṃvṛttim eva ca | aprayatnena paśyāmaḥ keṣāñcit tat svabhāvataḥ ||
เราย่อมเห็นว่า ในหมู่สัตว์บางพวก แม้มิได้พยายามเลย ความไม่พึงปรารถนาก็กลับบังเกิดผล และสิ่งพึงปรารถนาก็ถูกขัดขวาง; ทั้งนี้เกิดขึ้นเพราะสภาพธรรมชาติของเขาเอง
प्रह्माद उवाच
