Adhyāya 2: Nārada’s Disclosure—Karṇa’s Training and the Brahmin’s Curse (Śānti-parva)
ब्र्मास्त्रं वेत्तुमिच्छामि सरहस्यनिवर्तनम् । अर्जुनेन समं चाहं युध्येयमिति मे मति:
brahmāstraṁ vettum icchāmi sa-rahasya-nivartanam | arjunena samaṁ cāhaṁ yudhyeyam iti me matiḥ |
นารทกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่คุรุเทพ ข้าปรารถนาจะเรียนรู้พรหมาสตร พร้อมทั้งความลับแห่งการปล่อยและการถอนคืน ข้าตั้งใจว่าจะสามารถรบกับอรชุนได้อย่างเสมอภาค ด้วยความเมตตาของท่านที่มีต่อศิษย์และบุตรอย่างเท่าเทียม โปรดประทานคำสอนนี้แก่ข้า เพื่อมิให้บัณฑิตกล่าวว่าข้ามิใช่ผู้รู้ศาสตราวุธทั้งปวง”
