Duryodhana’s Post-Duel Lament and Instructions (भग्नसक्थस्य विलापः)
धर्मतो न््यायतश्चवैव स्नेहतश्न॒ परंतप । महाप्राज्ञ! आप पाण्डवोंपर दोषारोपण न कीजियेगा। परंतप! धर्म, न्याय और स्नेहकी दृष्टिसे महात्मा पाण्डवोंका इसमें थोड़ा-सा भी अपराध नहीं है
dharma-to nyāyataś caiva snehataś ca parantapa | mahāprājña! āp pāṇḍavopari doṣāropaṇa na kījiyegā | parantapa! dharma, nyāya aura sneha kī dṛṣṭi se mahātmā pāṇḍavoṃ kā ismeṃ thoṛā-sā bhī aparādha nahīṃ hai |
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “โอ้ผู้เผาผลาญศัตรู ไม่ว่าจักตัดสินด้วยธรรม ด้วยความยุติธรรม หรือด้วยสายใยแห่งความรัก ก็อย่าได้โยนความผิดแก่ปาณฑพเลย โอ้ผู้มีปัญญายิ่ง เมื่อมองด้วยความชอบธรรม ความเที่ยงธรรม และความผูกพันอันภักดีแล้ว ปาณฑพผู้ประเสริฐหาได้มีโทษแม้เพียงเศษเสี้ยวในเรื่องนี้ไม่”
