Resolve for the Mace Duel
अभिमानी होनेके कारण जिसके मनमें अपने छत्रकी छाया और सूर्यकी प्रभा भी खेद ही उत्पन्न करती थी, वह ऐसी कठोर बातें कैसे सह सकता था? ।। इयं च पृथिवी सर्वा सम्लेच्छाटविका भृशम् | प्रसादाद् प्रियते यस्य प्रत्यक्ष तव संजय,संजय! तुमने तो प्रत्यक्ष ही देखा था कि म्लेच्छों तथा जंगली जातियोंसहित यह सारी पृथ्वी दुर्योधनकी कृपासे ही जीवन धारण करती थी
iyaṃ ca pṛthivī sarvā samlecchāṭavikā bhṛśam | prasādād priyate yasya pratyakṣaṃ tava saṃjaya ||
ยุธิษฐิระกล่าวว่า “ด้วยความทะนง แม้เงาฉัตรของตนและรัศมีสุริยันก็ยังเป็นภาระในใจ—เขาจะทนถ้อยคำอันแข็งกร้าวเช่นนั้นได้อย่างไร? อีกทั้ง สัญชัย เจ้าเห็นกับตาแล้วว่า แผ่นดินทั้งสิ้นนี้ซึ่งแน่นด้วยพวกมเลจฉะและชนเผ่าพงไพร ยังดำรงและเป็นระเบียบได้ด้วยพระกรุณาและอำนาจของเขาเอง แล้วผู้หยิ่งผยองเช่นนั้นจะอดทนคำเสียดแทงได้อย่างไร?”
