Kṛpa’s Counsel to Duryodhana
āsādya bhīmasena te saṃrabdhā yuddha-durmadāḥ
The verse highlights how anger and battle-frenzy can overpower judgment: warriors, intoxicated by combat, rush toward a formidable opponent. It implicitly warns that uncontrolled passion (krodha, durmada) drives action in war, often eclipsing discernment and restraint.
Sañjaya reports that a group of warriors closes in on Bhīma. They are provoked and emboldened by the heat of battle, and they advance to engage him directly.
