Śālva’s Elephant Assault and the Counterstroke (शाल्वस्य नागारूढाभ्यवहारः)

अद्यार्जुनभनुर्घोषं घोरं जानातु संयुगे । अस्त्राणां च बलं॑ सर्व बाद्दोश्चन बलमाहवे,“आज राजा धृतराष्ट्र अनुभव करें कि भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णका कैसा माहात्म्य है और आज वे यह भी जान लें कि युद्धस्थलमें अर्जुनके गाण्डीव धनुषकी टंकार कितनी भयंकर है? उनके अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंकी सारी शक्ति कैसी है तथा रणभूमिमें उनकी दोनों भुजाओंका बल कितना अद्भुत है?

sañjaya uvāca |

adyārjunadhanurghoṣaṃ ghoraṃ jānātu saṃyuge |

astrāṇāṃ ca balaṃ sarvaṃ bāhvoś ca balaṃ āhave ||

วันนี้พระราชาพึงรู้ ในท่ามกลางยุทธการ ว่าเสียงกึกก้องอันน่าสะพรึงของคันศรอรชุนนั้นร้ายกาจเพียงใด; และพึงตระหนักถึงอานุภาพทั้งสิ้นแห่งอาวุธของอรชุน ตลอดจนกำลังแห่งกรของเขาในสนามรบ.
