तथैव तावन्मेधावी विनयं यो न शिक्षते । न च किंचन जानाति सो<पि धर्मार्थनिश्चयम्,इसी प्रकार मेधावी होनेपर भी जो मनुष्य विनय नहीं सीखता, वह भी धर्म और अर्थके निर्णयको थोड़ा भी नहीं समझ पाता है
tathaiva tāvan medhāvī vinayaṃ yo na śikṣate | na ca kiṃcana jānāti so 'pi dharmārthaniscayam ||
ฉันใดก็ฉันนั้น แม้ผู้ใดจะเฉลียวฉลาด หากไม่เรียนรู้ความนอบน้อมและวินัย ก็ย่อมไม่รู้เลยแม้แต่น้อยว่าจะตัดสินสิ่งใดเป็นธรรมะและสิ่งใดเป็นอรรถะ
