Educational Q&A

The verse highlights a moral tension: one may perform daily religious duties and maintain external propriety, yet still step into a context of adharma. Ritual correctness does not automatically safeguard ethical judgment; discernment about harmful environments is also part of dharma.

After a comfortable night, the protagonists rise at dawn, complete their routine rites (including Sandhyā worship), and proceed to the splendid royal hall where the dice-players receive them with greetings—setting the stage for the fateful gambling episode.
