Escalation of Wagers and Shakuni’s Repeated Declarations of Victory
sa hāstinapuraṃ gatvā dhṛtarāṣṭragṛhaṃ yayau | samiyāya ca dharmātmā dhṛtarāṣṭreṇa pāṇḍavaḥ ||
The verse highlights dharma as disciplined, timely, and respectful conduct: answering a summons, approaching the elder king properly, and maintaining decorum in the royal court even when circumstances may be fraught.
Yudhiṣṭhira (the dharmātmā Pāṇḍava) arrives in Hāstinapura and goes to Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s residence, where he meets the king—setting the stage for subsequent court events in the Sabha Parva.
