Dyūta-kathā-praśnaḥ — Inquiry into the Dice-Game Calamity

तदा तद्वचन श्रुत्वा मरणे निश्चिता मति: । सर्वक्षत्रस्य निधने यद्य॒हं हेतुरीप्सित:

tadā tadvacanaṁ śrutvā maraṇe niścitā matiḥ | sarvakṣatrasya nidhane yady ahaṁ hetur īpsitaḥ ||

ครั้นได้ยินถ้อยคำนั้น จิตของเขาก็ตั้งมั่นไปสู่ความตายว่า “หากเป็นที่ประสงค์จริง ๆ ให้เรากลายเป็นเหตุแห่งความพินาศของเหล่ากษัตริย์นักรบทั้งปวง ก็จงเป็นเช่นนั้นเถิด”
