कुरुभ्य: प्रस्थितास्ते तु मध्येन कुरुजाज्लम्‌ । रम्यं पच्मसरो गत्वा कालकूटमतीत्य च,वे तीनों कुरुदेशसे प्रस्थित हो कुरुजांगलके बीचसे होते हुए रमणीय पद्मसरोवरपर पहुँचे। फिर कालकूट पर्वतको लाँधचकर गण्डकी, महाशोण, सदानीरा एवं एकपर्वतक प्रदेशकी सब नदियोंको क्रमश: पार करते हुए आगे बढ़ते गये

kurubhyaḥ prasthitās te tu madhyena kurujāṅgalam | ramyaṃ padmasaro gatvā kālakūṭam atītya ca ||

ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า ครั้นออกจากแคว้นกุรุแล้ว พวกเขาเดินทางผ่านถิ่นกุรุชางคละ. เมื่อถึงสระปัทมะอันรื่นรมย์ แล้วข้ามพ้นเขากาลกูฏะ ก็เดินหน้าต่อไป โดยข้ามแม่น้ำคัณฑกี มหาโศณะ สทานีรา และสายน้ำทั้งหลายในแดนเอกปรวตะตามลำดับ.
