ममापि मान: परम: सदा त्वयि ब्रवीम्यतस्त्वां परमाच्च सौहदात् । निवारयिष्यामि च कर्णमप्यहं यदा भवान् सप्रणयो भविष्यति
mamāpi mānaḥ paramaḥ sadā tvayi bravīmy atas tvāṁ paramāc ca sauhṛdāt | nivārayiṣyāmi ca karṇam apy ahaṁ yadā bhavān sapraṇayo bhaviṣyati |
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ข้าก็มีความเคารพยิ่งต่อท่านมาโดยตลอด ด้วยเหตุแห่งมิตรภาพอันลึกซึ้ง ข้าจึงขอเสนอถ้อยคำนี้ หากท่านยินยอมด้วยไมตรีและความรัก ข้าจะยับยั้งแม้กระทั่งกรรณะไม่ให้เข้าสู่สงคราม
