vinaṣṭāḥ pāṇḍavāḥ kṛṣṇe śāśvataṁ narakaṁ gatāḥ
The line illustrates how, amid war and grief, people may distort moral judgment by projecting blame onto a revered figure (Kṛṣṇa). Ethically, it warns against misattributing responsibility and against interpreting complex dharmic outcomes through resentment rather than discernment.
In the Karṇa Parva battle context, Sañjaya reports a harsh claim that the Pāṇḍavas are ruined and, ‘because of Kṛṣṇa,’ have fallen into eternal hell—an emotionally charged assessment rather than a settled doctrinal verdict.
