Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
हंसस्य पतितं काको बलवानाशुविक्रम: । तब वहाँ आये हुए सारे कौए जोर-जोरसे हँसने लगे और आपसमें बोले--“भला यह हंस एक ही उड़ानसे सौ प्रकारकी उड़ानोंको कैसे जीत सकता है? यह कौआ बलवान् और शीघ्रतापूर्वक उड़नेवाला है; अतः सौमेंसे एक ही उड़ानद्वारा हंसकी उड़ानको पराजित कर देगा'
haṃsasya patitaṃ kāko balavān āśu-vikramaḥ |
“อีกาผู้มีกำลังและฉับไวได้พุ่งเข้าทับหงส์” ครั้นแล้วฝูงอีกาที่มาชุมนุมกันก็หัวเราะลั่น และพูดกันว่า “หงส์นี้จะชนะการบินร้อยแบบได้อย่างไรด้วยการบินเพียงแบบเดียว? อีกานี้ทั้งแข็งแรงและรวดเร็ว ดังนั้นเพียงหนึ่งในร้อยแบบก็พอจะปราบการบินของหงส์ได้”
