Karṇa’s Pressure on the Pāñcālas; Duryodhana Disabled; Arjuna’s Counter-Advance
अथ काका: प्रजहसुर्ये तत्रासन् समागता:,हंसस्य पतितं काको बलवानाशुविक्रम: । तब वहाँ आये हुए सारे कौए जोर-जोरसे हँसने लगे और आपसमें बोले--“भला यह हंस एक ही उड़ानसे सौ प्रकारकी उड़ानोंको कैसे जीत सकता है? यह कौआ बलवान् और शीघ्रतापूर्वक उड़नेवाला है; अतः सौमेंसे एक ही उड़ानद्वारा हंसकी उड़ानको पराजित कर देगा'
atha kākāḥ prajahasuḥ ye tatrāsan samāgatāḥ | haṃsasya patitaṃ kāko balavān āśu-vikramaḥ ||
แล้วฝูงอีกาที่มาชุมนุมกัน ณ ที่นั้นก็หัวเราะลั่น และพูดกันเองว่า “ดูเถิด หงส์ผู้นี้ตกต่ำแล้ว! จะเป็นไปได้อย่างไรที่หงส์จะชนะการบินร้อยแบบด้วยการบินแบบเดียว อีกาตัวนี้ทั้งแข็งแรงและว่องไว ดังนั้นเพียงการบินแบบใดแบบหนึ่งในร้อยนั้น ก็จักปราบการบินของหงส์ได้”
