Karna Reproves Shalya; Brahmin Reports on Bāhlīkas; Shalya’s Universalizing Rebuttal (कर्ण–शल्य संवादः)

अयं तु सदृश: शौरे: शल्य: समितिशोभन: । सारथ्यं यदि मे कुर्याद्‌ ध्रुवस्ते विजयो भवेत्‌,अवश्य ही ये युद्धमें शोभा पानेवाले राजा शल्य श्रीकृष्णके समान हैं, यदि ये मेरे सारथिका कार्य कर सकें तो तुम्हारी विजय निश्चित है

ayaṃ tu sadṛśaḥ śaureḥ śalyaḥ samitiśobhanaḥ | sārathyaṃ yadi me kuryād dhruvas te vijayo bhavet ||

กรรณะกล่าวว่า “ศัลยะผู้งามสง่าในท่ามกลางศึกนี้ เปรียบได้กับเศาริ (กฤษณะ) หากเขายอมเป็นสารถีให้ข้า ชัยชนะของท่านย่อมแน่นอน”
