रथा रथैरविमथिता मत्ता मन्तैद्विपा द्विपै: सादिन: सादिभिश्लैव तस्मिन् परमसंकुले
sañjaya uvāca | rathā rathair avimathitā mattā mantair dvipā dvipaiḥ sādinaḥ sādibhiś caiva tasmin paramasaṅkule | dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ kṛpeṇātha tasmin vīravarakṣaye | śikhaṇḍī kṛtavarmāṇaṃ samāsādayad acyutam ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ในความชุลมุนอันยิ่งยวดนั้น รถศึกชนรถศึกจนแตกกระจาย ช้างคลุ้มคลั่งถูกช้างฝ่ายตรงข้ามต้านและผลักกลับ เหล่าม้าศึกก็ปะทะกันกับม้าศึกด้วยกัน ท่ามกลางการล้มตายของยอดวีรชน ธฤษฏทยุมน์เข้ารบกับกฤปาจารย์ และศิขัณฑีผู้ไม่ยอมถอยก็เข้าประจันหน้ากฤตวรมัน
