द्रोणकर्णमुखै: षड्भिर्धार्तराष्ट्रमहारथै: । एको<यं निहतः शेते नैष धर्मो मतो हि न:
droṇakarṇamukhaiḥ ṣaḍbhir dhārtarāṣṭramahārathaiḥ | eko 'yaṃ nihataḥ śete naiṣa dharmo mato hi naḥ ||
ดโรณะและกรรณะเป็นต้น พร้อมมหารถีฝ่ายธฤตราษฏระอีกหกนาย ได้ร่วมกันสังหารเด็กหนุ่มผู้อยู่เดียวดายและไร้ที่พึ่งนี้ เขานอนอยู่ที่นี่ในสภาพถูกฆ่าแล้ว ในทัศนะของเรา นี่มิใช่ธรรมะ
संजय उवाच
Even in war, power must be restrained by dharma: killing a lone, helpless boy by the combined force of multiple elite warriors is condemned as adharma, highlighting that victory without righteousness is morally tainted.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that a single boy has been killed while defenseless by six Kaurava great warriors led by Droṇa and Karṇa, and he explicitly judges the act as not in accordance with dharma.
