#सस्न का + () अजानना एकाधिकंद्विशततमो<्ध्याय: अश्वत्थामाके द्वारा आग्नेयास्त्रके प्रयोगसे एक अक्षौहिणी पाण्डव-सेनाका संहार; श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनपर उस अस्त्रका प्रभाव न होनेसे पी अश्वत्थामाको व्यासजीका शिव और महिमा बताना संजय उवाच तत् प्रभग्नं बल॑ दृष्टवा कुन्तीपुत्रो धनंजय: । न्यवारयदमेयात्मा द्रोणपुत्रजयेप्सया
sañjaya uvāca | tat prabhagnaṃ balaṃ dṛṣṭvā kuntīputro dhanañjayaḥ | nyavārayad ameyātmā droṇaputra-jayepsayā ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ข้าแต่มหาราช ครั้นเห็นกองทัพแตกพ่ายและหนีระส่ำระสาย ธนัญชยะโอรสกุนตีคืออรชุน ผู้มีจิตใจอันประมาณมิได้ ก็เข้าห้ามไว้ ด้วยความมุ่งหมายจะมีชัยเหนือบุตรแห่งโทรณะ
