द्रवमाणं तु तत् सैन्यं दृष्टवा विगतचेतनम् । मध्यस्थतां च पार्थस्य धर्मपुत्रो5ब्रवीदिदम्,उन्होंने अपनी उस सेनाको जब अचेत होकर भागती और दुन्तीपुत्र अर्जुनको तटस्थभावसे खड़ा देखा, तब इस प्रकार कहा--
sañjaya uvāca | dravamāṇaṃ tu tat sainyaṃ dṛṣṭvā vigatacetanaṃ | madhyasthatāṃ ca pārthasya dharmaputro 'bravīd idam ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า “ครั้นเห็นกองทัพแตกหนีด้วยความตระหนกประหนึ่งสิ้นสติ และเห็นปารถะ (อรชุน) โอรสแห่งปาณฑุ ยืนอยู่อย่างวางเฉยเป็นกลาง ธรรมบุตรยุธิษฐิระจึงกล่าวถ้อยคำดังนี้”
संजय उवाच
