Droṇa’s sweeping assault and the Abhimanyu–Jayadratha close-quarters episode (द्रोणस्य भीषणव्यचरितम् / सौभद्र-जयद्रथ-संनिपातः)
न चैनं पाण्डवेयानां कश्षिच्छक्नोति भारत । वीक्षितुं समरे क्रुद्धें महेन्द्रमिव दानवा:
sañjaya uvāca |
na cainaṃ pāṇḍaveyānāṃ kaścit śaknoti bhārata |
vīkṣituṃ samare kruddhe mahendram iva dānavāḥ ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—โอ ภารตะ! ในศึกนั้น เมื่อเขาเดือดดาลด้วยโทสะแล้ว ฝ่ายบุตรแห่งปาณฑุไม่มีผู้ใดมีกำลังแม้แต่จะเงยหน้ามองเขาได้; ดุจดังพวกทานวะไม่อาจจ้องมองมหेंद्र (พระอินทร์) เมื่อทรงกริ้วฉันนั้น।
