निगृहीतास्तु भोजेन भोजानीकेप्सवो रणे | अतिष्ठन्नार्यवद् वीरा: प्रार्थयन्तो महद्यश:
nigṛhītās tu bhojena bhojānīkepsavo raṇe | atiṣṭhann āryavad vīrāḥ prārthayanto mahad yaśaḥ |
ครั้นถูกโภชะ (กฤตวรมัน) สกัดไว้ในสนามรบ เหล่าวีรชนผู้หมายจะเจาะแนวทัพโภชะก็มิได้ถอย หากยืนหยัดดุจอารยะบุรุษ—ปรารถนาศักดิ์ศรีเกียรติยศอันใหญ่หลวง และใคร่จะรบกับกองทัพนั้นเอง
संजय उवाच
Even amid violent conflict, the verse highlights an ideal of kṣatriya conduct: steadfastness and dignity (āryavat) under pressure, with the pursuit of honor (yaśas) framed as a motivating ethical value in the warrior code.
Kṛtavarman, leading the Bhoja contingent, blocks the opposing heroes’ advance. Though checked, the warriors do not break; they hold their ground and continue to seek engagement with that army, aiming for great renown.
