गौरुडव्यूह-रचना तथा अर्धचन्द्र-प्रत्यव्यूह

अपतत्‌ सहसा राजन्‌ महोल्केव नभस्तलात्‌

apatat sahasā rājan maholkeva nabhastalāt | aṣṭabhir navabhir bhīṣmaḥ śaktiṃ ciccheda patribhiḥ ||

สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—“ข้าแต่มหาราช ศักตินั้นตกลงมาโดยฉับพลันจากท้องฟ้า ดุจอุกกาบาตมหึมา ครั้นเห็นมันลุกโพลงกลางเวหา ราวถูกโอบล้อมด้วยเปลวเพลิง บิดาของท่าน เทววรตะ (ภีษมะ) มิได้หวั่นไหวแม้แต่น้อย; ด้วยศรแปดหรือเก้าดอก เขาตัดอาวุธนั้นเป็นเสี่ยง ๆ”
