नुदन् समन्तात् समरे रविरुद्यन् यथा तमः । तेनाजौ प्रेषिता राजन् शरा: शतसहस्रश:
nudan samantāt samare ravir udyan yathā tamaḥ | tenājau preṣitā rājan śarāḥ śata-sahasraśaḥ | jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
สัญชัยกล่าวว่า—ข้าแต่พระราชา ดุจดวงอาทิตย์อุทัยขับไล่ความมืด ฉันใด พวกเขาก็รุกไล่จากทุกทิศในสนามรบ กระจายกองทัพศัตรูฉันนั้น แล้วข้าแต่ผู้ครองแผ่นดิน ศรนับแสนถูกยิงออกไปทั่วทุ่งรบ และเมื่อยอดนักรบทั้งหลายพุ่งเข้าหาภีษมะ—ผู้ประเสริฐในหมู่นักรบ—ด้วยเจตนาจะสังหาร การปะทะในขณะนั้นก็กลายเป็นมหาศึกอันตุมุล
