The verse highlights the authority and sanctity of the teaching: Sanjaya’s knowledge comes through Vyasa’s grace, enabling him to hear Krishna—the Lord of Yoga—speaking directly. Ethically, it stresses faithful transmission of truth and the idea that profound spiritual insight is received through divine favor and disciplined receptivity.
Sanjaya, narrating the Kurukshetra events to Dhritarashtra, explains how he is able to report Krishna’s confidential instruction: Vyasa has granted him the capacity (divine vision/privilege) to hear and recount Krishna’s words as they were spoken.
