देशानां च परीमाणं नगराणां च संजय । श्रोतुमिच्छामि तत्त्वेन यत एते समागता:,“संजय! ये लोग जहाँ-जहाँसे आये हैं, उन देशों और नगरोंका यथार्थ परिमाण मैं तुमसे सुनना चाहता हूँ
deśānāṃ ca parīmāṇaṃ nagarāṇāṃ ca saṃjaya | śrotum icchāmi tattvena yata ete samāgatāḥ ||
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า “สัญชัย เราปรารถนาจะฟังโดยถูกต้องถึงขอบเขตและความกว้างใหญ่ของแว่นแคว้นและนครทั้งหลาย ที่วีรชนเหล่านี้มาชุมนุมจากที่นั่น”
