Karma-Yoga, Jñāna-Yajña, and Avatāra Instruction
यः सर्वत्रानभिस्नेहस्तत् तत् प्राप्प शुभाशुभम् । नाभिनन्दति न द्वेष्टि तस्य प्रज्ञा प्रतेष्ठिता,जो पुरुष सर्वत्र स्नेहरहित हुआ उस-उस शुभ या अशुभ वस्तुको प्राप्त होकर न प्रसन्न होता है और न द्वेष करता हैः उसकी बुद्धि स्थिर है
yaḥ sarvatrānabhisnehas tat tat prāpya śubhāśubham | nābhinandati na dveṣṭi tasya prajñā pratiṣṭhitā ||
ผู้ที่ไม่ยึดติดในทุกแห่ง ครั้นประสบสิ่งดีหรือร้ายก็ไม่ยินดีและไม่ชิงชัง—ปัญญาของผู้นั้นตั้งมั่นแน่วแน่
अजुन उवाच
A truly wise person remains inwardly steady: when pleasant or unpleasant outcomes arise, they do not swing into elation or hatred. This freedom from attachment and aversion is presented as the mark of established wisdom.
In the Bhīṣma Parva dialogue on the battlefield, Arjuna asks about the signs of stable wisdom; this verse describes one such sign—equanimity toward favorable and unfavorable experiences.
