Bhīṣma-nipāta-saṃvāda — Sañjaya’s Report of Bhīṣma’s Fall (भीष्मनिपातसंवादः)
आशंंसे5हं परं त्राणं भीष्माच्छान्तनुनन्दनात् । मुझे शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मसे अपने पक्षके परित्राणकी बड़ी आशा थी। इस समय अपने पुत्रके शोकसे संतप्त होकर मैं महान् दुःखसे चिन्तित हो उठा हूँ ।।
āśaṃse ’haṃ paraṃ trāṇaṃ bhīṣmāc chāntanunandanāt |
ธฤตราษฏระตรัสว่า— “เราวางความหวังสูงสุดแห่งการคุ้มครองฝ่ายเราไว้ที่ภีษมะ โอรสอันเป็นที่รักของศานตนุ แต่บัดนี้ เมื่อถูกเผาผลาญด้วยโศกเพราะบุตร เราถูกกดทับด้วยความทุกข์ใหญ่และความกังวล”
