Educational Q&A

Numerical strength and effort alone do not guarantee progress; disciplined command and strategic positioning (here embodied by Droṇa) can restrain even a vast force. Ethically, it highlights the role of trained leadership and ordered action within kṣatriya-dharma, where outcomes hinge on skill and governance of force, not mere aggression.

Sañjaya reports to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Yudhiṣṭhira’s large army, despite attempting to press forward in the battle, was effectively blocked by Droṇa and could not advance even a step.
