The verse highlights ethical intercession: recognizing a righteous person’s capacity (Kṛṣṇa’s prabhāva) and appealing to it for compassionate action. It frames the saving of life as the highest form of grace (paramānugraha) and as a dharmic act that benefits an entire community (the Pāṇḍavas).
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker addresses Kṛṣṇa directly, acknowledging his extraordinary power and pleading with him to grant a supreme favor to the Pāṇḍavas by giving life to a child who is in danger or has died.
