ह्वियमाणे तु दृष्टवा स कुण्डले भुजगेन ह
hviyamāṇe tu dṛṣṭvā sa kuṇḍale bhujagena ha
ไวศัมปายนะกล่าวว่า— ครั้นเห็นพญานาคคาบต่างหูหนีไป ฤๅษีอุตตังกะก็สะท้านด้วยความตระหนก ครั้นโทสะอันแรงกล้าพลุ่งขึ้น เขาก็กระโดดลงจากต้นไม้ คว้าท่อนไม้เป็นกระบอง แล้วเริ่มขุดจอมปลวกด้วยกระบองนั้น—ด้วยสำนึกแห่งธรรมเพื่อชิงของที่ถูกฉกชิงคืน และแก้การยึดเอาโดยอธรรมให้ถูกต้อง
